CETBA Open Championships set Nov.6

CEBU, Philippines —  Over 100 local and out-of-town bowlers will vie for supremacy in the Cebu Tenpin Bowling Association's (CETBA) 10th Open Bowling Championships set on November 6 at the SM City Cebu's bowling center.

 

Providing the challenge to the local players are bowlers from Metro Manila, Lipa, Imus, Davao and Zamboanga.

The six-day tournament features the Open Masters and Seniors’ Masters (50-years-old and above) divisions.

Sanctioned by the Philippine Bowling Congress (PBC) and the National Bowling Tour (NBT), all games will follow a modified singles classic format.

The opening ceremony will be graced by Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) commissioner Ramon Fernandez together with Cebu Province Governor Hilario Davide III, Vice Governor Agnes Magpale, Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña and Senator Paolo Benigno "BAM" Aquino IV.

A whopping P80,000 cash prize will be awarded to the Open Masters champion, while the Senior's Masters champion will receive P40,000.

Registration fee is pegged at P3,100 inclusive of two sets of three games and P500 for the re-entry. A P1,000 will be charged for the double-up fee for entering both Seniors and Open, while P800 for double-up for each set (including re-entry fee) and P1,500 for the Desperado Squad. The entry fee in the Masters Finals (per qualified bowlers) is at P2,800 for the Senior Masters and P3,000 for the Open.
