Belarmino explodes for 40 points as Dreamscape ties E-Leagues record

CEBU, Philippines — Ralph Belarmino erupted for 40 points spiked with 18 rebounds as the Dreamscape Networks Lions pounded the Tech Mahindra Tech Mighties, 81-62, to stay perfect in the EVO League of the Tanduay Athletics E-Leagues for Basketball Season 14 last Saturday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

Belarmino also had six steals and passed out three assists for the Lions, who strecthed their unbeaten run to 11-0 to match the feat that the Supportsave Dragons accomplished two years ago. The Dragons scored an 11-game elimination round sweep in the 2016 season and went on to clinch the EVO League title with an immaculate 16-0 record.

Jake Cainday also figured prominently for Dreamscape with 20 points, 11 rebounds, three steals, and two assists.

Robert Rebano scored 15 and Steven Cabanday had 12 for the Tech Mighties, who fell to 7-3.

In the other EVO League match, Matthew Grafilo led four players in double figures with 19 points as the  Kyocera Frontiers slammed the Cognizant Tech Solutions Gladiators, 85-65, for their fifth straight win and eight overall in nine games.

Ariel Edera backed up Grafilo with 16 points, while Winston Panal and Early Olongayo nailed 23 points in between them for Kyocera.

Frelan Placencia finished with 14 points, Kimjo Christian Osorro had 12 and Kristian Tapic tallied 11 markers for Cognizant, which dropped to 3-7.                             

In the Elite Classic, Jaime Pacquiao Jr. netted 25 points, Antonio Perez added  17 and Ildefonso Bulangis pumped in 15 points as the three-time defending champions Converters whipped the Tesltra Boomerangs, 114-73, to join the Sykes Pioneers at third place with identical 7-4 win-loss cards.

The ePerformax Reds, on the other hand, subdued the Wipro Tigers, 70-64, for their fourth win in 11 starts. Robert Gilo showed the way for the Reds with 21 points, 16 rebounds, and three steals. (FREEMAN)
