Cash-rich Pyroworks chessfest to spice up Sinulog festivities

CEBU, Philippines — Close to P50,000 in cash prize is at stake in the Pyroworks Handicapping Open Chess Tournament this Saturday at Basement 2 of Robinsons Galleria Cebu.

The champion of the 7-round Swiss system tilt bankrolled by Cebuano chess patron Boojie Lim in association with the Cebu Executives and Professionals Chess Association (CEPCA) will take home P10,000, while the second to fifth placers will receive P5,000, P3,000, P2,000 and P1,000, respectively.

The sixth to 10th will get P500 each, while the 11-20th will have P300.

On the other hand, the top kiddie, lady, senior (60-above) and CEPCA players will pocket P500 apiece.

Registration fee is pegged at P150 for kiddies, Ladies and Cepcans , and P250 for regular players.
