Cebu City Marriott Hotel organizes 'Run To Give'

CEBU, Philippines — Everything is already in place for the first ever “Run To Give” spearheaded by the Cebu City Marriott Hotel on September 23 at the Terraces in Ayala Center Cebu.

The run is an Asia Pacific initiated event where all Marriot properties across the region will run for a cause. This is in line with the company's global wellness campaign called Take Care.

"Run to Give 2017 is a fun activity initiated by Marriot International. This is to promote the Take Care Program which aims to help local charities," said Joe Fijardo of Cebu City Marriott Hotel in a press conference yesterday.

The charity race is for the benefit of the Rise Above Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides educational opportunities, livelihood training and health and hygiene programs to less fortunate families in Cebu.

"This is not just a local initiative, Cebu City Marriott is part of the Asia Pacific and we are all taking part of the regional initiative. We hope to raise as much funds to our chosen beneficiary through this activity," said Frances Alfafara, one of the organizers.

The race features 3-kilometer, 5K and the 10K categories. All finishers will get a certificate and the top three male and female in each category will receive medals.

Entry fee is at P350 for the 3K, P450 for 5K and P550 for the 10K inclusive of race shirts, race bibs, post-race refreshments and finisher's certificate.

There will also be a Zumba party and a raffle draw after the run.

Registration is still ongoing at the lobby of Cebu City Marriot Hotel and RUNNR in Ayala Center Cebu. (FREEMAN)
