Cebu Marathon sets cut-off time even for shortest route

CEBU, Philippines – The 10th Cebu Marathon slated on January 8 starting and ending at the Cebu Business Park grounds will have a cut-off time even for the shortest distance.

A seven-hour cut-off is set for the full marathon or the 42.195-kilometer action, two-hour for the 10K and one hour and a half for the 5K. Those who fail to breach the cut-off time will no longer be allowed to proceed to the finish line.

This is being done by the organizing Cebu Executive Runners' Club and RunRio to make sure that all road closures made along the route from the Cebu Business Park to the cities of Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu and back will again be opened to traffic by 10 am.

Meanwhile, the race kit collection is scheduled on January 4-6, from 10 am to 9 pm, and on January 7, from 10 a.m. to 6 pm. Each kit contains a singlet, race bib and a timing chip for all categories.

The top performers will receive cash prizes, specially-designed medals and finisher's shirt for the 42K and 21K entries, while all participants will get a loot bag.
