Sykes cagers shine in E-League All-Star event

CEBU, Philippines - Jhoneil Geraldizo, Robby Ruiz and Paul Sanchez of the Sykes Pioneers shone brightly in the 12th CSCC E-League All-Star Sunday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

Geraldizo and Ruiz beat Carlo Amimita and Alexander Neri of the SSI Warriors by the slimmest of margins, 41-40, to lord over the 2-ball competition, while Sanchez topped the Skills Challenge with the best time of 26 seconds, way ahead of his closest challenger Christian Palima of Dyninno Raptors who finished in 33 seconds.

On the other hand, Ryan Llanos of the Accenture Sharks was crowned as the league's 3-point king. He ruled the shootout with 13 points, edging   Justin Mier of the Supportsave Dragons and James Mally of the Contact Solutions Flying Lemurs with eight and seven points, respectively.

In the 3x3 blitz tournament, Dean Junber Escalon of the Teleperformance All-Stars, Archie Batua of Accenture and  Kenneth Babor of Dyninno reigned supreme after eking out a 21-19 victory over Jasper Diaz of the Telstra Boomerangs, Elmer Saavedra of Tech Mahindra Tech Mighties and Elgiel Melgar of the Blue Ocean Pirates.
