Team Cebu Kopiko all set for Le Tour Filipinas debut

CEBU, Philippines -  Team Cebu Kopiko will make its debut in the Le Tour Filipinas set to kick off today in Antipolo,Rizal.

Kopiko-Cebu's final roster  includes four Cebuanos in John Renee Mier, Jaybop and Jhunvie Pagnanawon and Elmer Navarro. They will be joined by Ronnel Hualda.

Right after the Christmas break, the Cebuano riders went to Manila to train with the rest of the team members.

Kopiko-Cebu is one of  the only three local teams seeing action. The others are 7-Eleven and the Philippine team.           

They will take on 12 foreign squads namely Australia's Hysport Look Continental, Japan's Bridgestone Achor and Kinai, Kazakhstan's Team Vino 4-ever SKO, Malaysia's Terengganu, Netherlands' Global, South Korea's LX IIBS, Taiwan's Attaque Team Gusto, USA's Novo Nordiske, and UAE's SkyDive-Dubai.

Sanctioned by the Union Cycliste Internationale and the Asian Cycling Federation, the grueling race  covers a total of four stages from Antipolo to Legazpi City in Albay. — (FREEMAN)
