CEBU, Philippines - Danao City will stage a dragon boat race dubbed as ‘Dragons at the Boardwalk’ today starting at the town’s boardwalk.
The race which is one of the highlights for Danao City’s Karansa Festival, includes two separate division—open and All-Danao class.
Eight teams will vie for the open division crown that includes out-of-town participants from Bohol and Dumaguete. Representing Cebu is Team Lexmark, Habagat Outdoor Shop, Bogo and host team Danao City Milers.
In the all-Danao division, there’s Barangay Looc, Taytay, Dunggoan, Team Rambo, Office of the City Administrator, two teams from DepEd Danao and CTU-Danao.
Prior to the competition, organizers held clinics for interested individuals who want to learn about the sport of dragonboat.
The said race is supported by the Cebu Provincial Sports Commission and Dragon Boat and Dragon Boat Cebu Central. (FREEMAN)
