Lim dominates Cebu Korean Association golf tournament

CEBU, Philippines - Byung Ho Lim bagged the top honors in last Wednesday’s 5th Cebu Korean Association President’s Cup Golf Tournament played at the Alta Vista Golf and Country Club in Pardo, Cebu City.

Byung fired nines of 36 and 39 for a total of  75 strokes to claim the lowest gross honors of the 18-hole event open to Koreans as well as other nationalities.

The class A title in the event, which used the System-36 Handicapping System, went to club treasurer and golf director Ramon Sebastian, who had a net score of 69 strokes off a gross 76.  Runner-up honors went to Jaesung Lim with a net score of  70 strokes.

Cho Bong Hwan a.k.a. Charlie Cho, president of the Cebu Korean Association, thanked all the participants and the sponsors, who made the event happen.  The awards ceremony at the Alta Vista ballroom was also graced by lawyer Augusto Go, the honorary consul of Korea.

The class B title went to Sekwan Yoon with a net score of  71 off a gross 92.  Runner-up honors went to Dongmyung Lee with 73 strokes.

Chae Youn Kim bagged the class C title with a net score of 78 while the runner-up honors went to Il Hyeon Jung with 79.

Choi Yi Hwa fired a net score of 71 strokes off a gross 82 to rule the ladies division.  Park Chung Ja took the runner-up honors with a net score of 74.

A special prize went to Hyun Kyo Chung for being nearest to the pin on hole No. 6.         

More than a hundred players took part in the tournament, which was held to foster closer ties among Koreans as well as the other members of the Cebu community. (PR from www.fullpointcebu.com)
