3rd MAD Run set March 10

CEBU, Philippines - It's all systems go for the third edition of the Make A Difference (MAD) Run on March 10 in brgy. Lahug, this city.

“We’re happy to be back. We want to promote health and make it affordable to all,” said Lahug councilwoman Mary Ann delos Santos in a press conference yesterday.

Having the cheapest registration fee of only P150 inclusive of a singlet, the organizers are expecting over a thousand runners to take part in the event.

The categories to be featured at 5K, 10K and 16K.

Joel Garganera, one of the organizers, said they want to bring back the good old days of running wherein the registration fee is so reasonable unlike at present wherein the normal rate ranges from P350 to P500.

“I remember nakadagan pako sauna nga P50. Mureklamo na gani mga runners if P100. It’s very expensive nowadays, that’s why we’re bringing back the old good days nga barato ra ang registration fee,” said Garganera.

Aside from medals for the top three finishers, the top 10 placers in the 10K and 16K will also receive P500 each.

Entry forms are available at Runnr in Ayala Center-Cebu, Abellana National School, Citigym at Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino and at the Lahug Barangay Hall. (FREEMAN)
