Minglanilla, Mandaue  enjoy long holidays

CEBU, Philippines — Residents of the Municipality of Minglanilla are enjoying a long vacation following its declaration of August 22, Tuesday, as a special non-working day to celebrate its town fiesta.

Minglanilla Mayor Rajiv Enad issued Executive Order No. 51 series of 2023.

"In observance of the Municipality of Minglanilla Annual Fiesta, a day of profound reverence for the Immaculate Heart of Mary, we are honored to declare August 22, 2023, a special non-working holiday,” said Enad, in a Facebook post.

The declaration was authorized by the Municipal Council through Resolution No. 349 series of 2023.

“Let us unite in joyous commemoration, embracing the traditions that bind our community and celebrating the values that strengthen our bonds,” Enad added.

The town’s special non-working day extends the rest days of its residents following the weekend and the Ninoy Aquino Day on Monday, August 21, which is a regular holiday in the country.

MANDAUE CITY

Meanwhile, residents of Mandaue City will also be enjoying a longer holiday.

On August 30, 2023, the city will celebrate its 54th Charter Day Anniversary.

By virtue of Republic Act No. 5514 and Proclamation No. 586, August 30 of every year is declared as a special non-working day in Mandaue City.

This year, the special non-working day is added to the weekend and Monday, August 28, which is a special holiday in the entire country as Filipinos celebrate the National Heroes Day. — Banat News/GMR
