E-bike driver nabbed in drug bust, shabu worth almost P1 million seized

CEBU, Philippines —  A 26-year-old e-bike driver was arrested with 105 grams of suspected shabu worth nearly P1 million in a buy-bust operation on Flordeliz Street, Barangay Bulacao, Cebu City at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The operation, which was conducted by the City Intelligence Unit of the Cebu City Police Office, netted Jobert Labiaga Bequiso alias Bidie, a resident of Barangay Inayawan, who is considered a high-value individual.

Bequiso has been under surveillance for two weeks by the CIU after it received information regarding the illegal activities of the suspect.

During the operation, authorities recovered from Bequiso four large packs, one medium and seven small sachets of suspected shabu weighing 105 grams worth P714,000.

In the CIU-CCPO report, it was said that Bequiso could dispose of 150 grams of shabu in a week.

The area of operations of the suspect was not only in Barangay Bulacao but also the neighboring barangays in the city.
