Cops intensify operations against wanted persons
This is the assurance of Police Colonel Robert Lingbawan, RMFB-7 chief, after the arrest of the second most wanted person in Central Visayas who was accused of 40 counts of rape.

CEBU, Philippines —  The Regional Mobile Force Battalion-7 has vowed to continue its intensified operations and campaign against criminals on the loose following the arrest of four wanted persons in a span of two days.

This is the assurance of Police Colonel Robert Lingbawan, RMFB-7 chief, after the arrest of the second most wanted person in Central Visayas who was accused of 40 counts of rape.

Last Friday afternoon, authorities served the warrant of arrest against Dennis Cerenio, 39, accused of raping a then 17-year-old in 2019 in Sibonga, Cebu.

He then went into hiding in Brgy. Magsaysay, Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte where he was also arrested by virtue of warrant of arrest issued on April 13, 2021 by Judge May Faith Lledo Trumata-Rebotiaco of the Regional Trial Court Branch 94 in Argao, Cebu.

"Paulit-ulit tong violation na ginawa nya kaya yun naging desisyon ng court...so far itong suspect na ito, ito pa lang yung alam namin pero i-imbestigahan pa natin kung may nga other victims pa na na-involved," said Lingbawan.

Lingbawan said that after their Intelligence monitoring, they found Cerenio hiding in Zamboanga.

"Kasama na ito doon sa cleanliness within the community, yung arrest of wanted person, ini-intensify natin yan dito sa Region 7," said Lingbawan.

The same unit has served another warrant of arrest against an alleged Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) personality in Sitio Manga, Barangay Lawaan, Dumanjug, Cebu at around 12 p.m. Saturday.

The accused, Mateo Sabio, 43, whose name was tagged as number one most wanted person in Negros Oriental, has voluntarily surrendered before the RMFB-7. He also temporarily resides in Barangay Lawaan, Dumanjug.

After he surrendered, authorities served his warrant of arrest for murder charges issues by RTC Branch 64 in Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental signed by Judge Mario Trinidad who recommended no bail against the accused.

Another most wanted person in municipal level was served with warrant of arrest issued by Judge May Faith Lledo Trumata-Rebotiaco of RTC Branch 94 in Argao, Cebu dated April 13, 2021 with no bail recommended.

The accused was identified as Renato Valiente, 55, who was served with his warrant of arrest in Sitio BAD-C, Brgy. Casala-an, Siaton, Negros Oriental. — GMR (FREEMAN)
