2 women caught with P408 thousand shabu

Lorna Mangbang, 63, and Jenny Amad, 20, were caught with three packs of shabu weighing at least 60 grams in a joint operation of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-7, Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), and Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) at Pier 2 along Arellano Boulevard.

CEBU, Philippines — Authorities seized around P408,000 worth of drugs and arrested two women in a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Roque, Cebu City Thursday.

Lorna Mangbang, 63, and Jenny Amad, 20, were caught with three packs of shabu weighing at least 60 grams in a joint operation of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-7, Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), and Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) at Pier 2 along Arellano Boulevard.

Mangbang, who resides in the barangay, and Amad, a resident of Barangay Tisa, allegedly can dispose of 500 grams of shabu per week.

Reports said their clients are laborers and crew members of a ship.

The areas of distribution include the said barangay where they caught, as well as Barangays Tinago, Tejero, Carreta, and other neighboring areas.

Authorities have conducted a case buildup not less than three weeks prior to the arrest.

The arrested individuals will be facing charges for violating Article II of Republic Act 9165.  — KQD (FREEMAN)
