Two high-value targets caught with P4.1 million shabu

CEBU, Philippines —  Authorities have seized around P4.1 million worth of shabu and arrested two high-value individuals (HVI) in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Duljo Fatima in Cebu City last Friday.

Roger Ongcoy, 43, and Nicasio Ongcoy, 66, were caught with 24 medium and two small heat-sealed transparent plastic packs of shabu weighing around 602 grams with an estimated street value of P4,093,600.

Police said 22 medium and two small packs of shabu were seized from the possession of Roger. The remaining two packs were recovered from Nicasio.

Both suspects are residents of Sitio Plastikan in the said barangay where they were arrested by the operatives of Mambaling Police Station and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-7.

The suspects were considered as HVIs on a regional level and were part of the drug watchlist.

Other pieces of evidence recovered were P1,000 cash believed to be used as buy-bust money and a plastic bag used as a container.

Both suspects are currently detained at Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) Station 11 and will face charges for  violating Sections 5 and 11 of Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002). — KQD (FREEMAN)
