CEBU, Philippines — Cebu Governor Gwendolyn “Gwen” Garcia supports the appeal of Lapu-Lapu City mayor to resume the international flights at the Mactan Cebu International Airport.

"I will join Mayor (Junard) “Ahong” (Chan)  also in that aspect for as long as we are able to lay down the guidelines that would govern the entry of foreign tourists,” she said.

During the webinar initiated the Lapu-Lapu City Tourism, Cultural and Historical Affairs Commission (TCHAC), Chan has appealed to Garcia, Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) and other mayors in metro Cebu to help lobby for the operations of international flights.

He said the resumption of international flights will help revive the tourism industry and the economy.

“We appeal to them to help us lobby for the resumption of international flights to ferry tourists to help us revive the ailing hospitality and tourism industry in our cities and in the entire province,” the mayor stated,” he said a quoted by the city’s information office report. —KQD (FREEMAN)
