Frasco launches COVID-19 hotline

CEBU, Philippines — Residents of the 5th district of Cebu who were not able to receive relief and assistance from the government during the ongoing enhanced community quarantine may now message the Office of Rep. Vincent “Duke” Frasco.

The congressman launched the 5th district COVID-19 hotline yesterday.

“In this time of crisis, we hear a lot of cries for help. We will listen, we will hear them out, and we will provide assistance,” Frasco said.

The hotline will also cater to concerns of displaced public utility drivers, affected employees of small businesses, as well as displaced Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

To address the concerns of these families who were not able to receive assistance yet from government agencies, Frasco is making available the hotline which is 0908-354-0240. The public may also send an email to 5thdistrictcovidconcerns@gmail.com.

Frasco’s office will help facilitate concerns about the Bureau of Internal Revenue’s Small Business Wage Subsidy Program, as well as the program of the Department of Transportation which is giving out assistance to displaced drivers.

Earlier this month, people in the fifth district’s 10 towns and one city have received relief packs containing masks, rice and canned goods from Frasco.

Just last week, the congressman through the Frasco Foundation donated an additional 1,000 sacks of rice for the fifth district which were repacked and distributed to sectors and households heavily affected by the ECQ in Danao City, Liloan, Compostela, Carmen, Catmon, Sogod, Borbon, and the four municipalities in the Camotes group of islands.

“Akong panghinaut na kining tabang na atong gihatag makapahinumdom sa katawhan na dili angay mawad-an ug paglaum, na wala sila nag-inusara sa pag-atubang niining dakong krisis. Ug pamaagi sa atong pagtinabangay, maluwas kita niini,” Frasco said.

Forms, list of requirements for the aid and instructions are also available at Frasco’s official Facebook page and hard copies are available at his district offices.  FPL (FREEMAN)
