Three suspects yield P1.3 million drugs

CEBU, Philippines —  Three persons were arrested in separate buy-bust operations by the Cebu City Police Office last Friday evening. Almost P1.3 million worth of shabu was seized from the suspects..

The first operation was conducted near the Blessed Sacrament Parish, in Barangay Tejero, last Friday afternoon where policemen arrested Melchor Dinawanao, 26, a resident of T. Villa, Barangay T. Padilla; and Bridget Rose Matbagon, 23, a resident of Perez Compound, Barangay Alang-alang, Mandaue City.

Chief Inspector Major Joemar Pomarejos, chief of the Waterfront Police Station, led the operation together with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-7 personnel.

The operating team confiscated 165 grams of suspected shabu worth P1,122,000 from the two.

The second operation happened along Tres de Abril Street in Barangay Pahina-San Nicolas, where the police arrested a certain Welfredo Villanueva, 18, of Bario Lapok, Barangay Duljo-Fatima.

Chief Inspector Kenneth Albotra, chief of the San Nicolas Police Station led the operation which yielded 20.4 grams of shabu worth P172,720.

Those arrested are now detained and set to face charges for selling drugs. —BRP (FREEMAN)
