Faith healer nabbed for ‘raping patient’

CEBU, Philippines — A faith healer was arrested for allegedly raping his 22-year-old patient in his house in Cogon Guinsay, Danao City last Wednesday.

Suspect Joselito Kiamco was arrested in Carmen town yesterday.

The victim was brought to the house of the suspect in Cogon Guinsay, Danao City where the alleged rape happened.

The suspect was about to perform a “surgery” on the victim and he let her drink a concoction that made her pass out.

The suspect also made the victim pay P6,000.

Sgt. Roger Delan of Carmen Police Station said that the victim and her mother, who are residents of Carmen, reported the incident to Carmen Police Station at around 11 p.m. Wednesday

Delan said the suspect was in Carmen yesterday and he was arrested.

He was turned over to Danao City Police after the arrest.

Sexual Harassment

Meanwhile, a 24-year-old man was arrested for allegedly harassing a senior high school student while on board a public utility jeepney at around 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The suspect was identified as Henry Laurence Cabrera, 24, a boiler operator of an oil company.

Cabrera was arrested by the victim with the assistance of two Cebu City Traffic Operation Management (CITOM) officers.

Leah Jashy Abella, 18, said that while she was on board a jeepney with route number of 11A, Cabrera who was sitting beside her allegedly touched her legs.

Cabrera also allegedly touched her skirt hitting her private part.

According to Master Sergeant Venus Tampos of the Cebu City Police Station 5 Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD), Abella immediately asked for help from the CITOM officers on duty that resulted in the arrest of the suspect.
