CEBU, Philippines - The Department of Environment and Natural Resources-7 has registered a 104 percent accomplishment in land records computerization and digitization for 2015.

This is equivalent to 656,246 encoded land records and 926,580 scanned survey records and public land applications as part of the land administration and management system (LAMS), a system enhanced land record management facility that ensures integrity of land access to land information, such as cadastral maps, isolated survey plans, public land applications, patents and titles.

Based on a report released by the Surveys and Mapping Division of DENR-7, the regional office has a total of 605,420 encoded land records and 369,538 scanned survey records and public land applications. Bohol has 35,782 and 430,898 while Negros Oriental has 15,227 and 126,148.

DENR-7 Director Dr. Isa-belo Montejo said the system is vital as it identifies correction of missing, erroneous and conflicting land records, and provides an effective management through database and imaging technology by computerized inspection, verification and approval of survey returns.

He said the system is also capable of performing quick processing of land transactions and updating of land records as well the tracking of application undergoing processing.

“We have been continuously working towards ensuring the integrity of land information through sustained cleansing of land records of inconsistencies, duplication, errors and fraud,” Montejo said.

Supportive to the effective land titling activities, Montejo expressed confidence in DENR’s efforts to collaborate with other sectors and agencies, as well as in the dissemination of electronic land information to local government units and other users.

The LAMS project is anchored on DENR’s Administrative Order Number 2010-18 dated June 23, 2010, which aims to establish an integrated land information system that will support effective land titling activities and electronic land information dissemination to local government units and other users.
