US national arrested for acts of lasciviousness

CEBU, Philippines- A US national was arrested for allegedly harassing and hurting a couple in a restaurant along F. Cabahug Street, Barangay Kasambagan, Cebu City Saturday evening.

Frankie Moneely, 53, was held in custody for acts of lasciviousness, physical injuries and for violation of City Ordinance 1929 or for drunkenness.

Moneely is currently stating in Mabolo, Cebu City but is originally from Springfield, Missouri. 

He was apprehended by the elements of Mabolo Police Station after he was reported by April Joy Gomez, 23 and her husband, Albert Gomez, 24.  April Joy and Albert are both working at the restaurant where the alleged harassment took place.

 Inspector Vincent Zozobrado, deputy chief of Mabolo Police Station, said that Moneely, who was one of the customers, reportedly kept on grabbing and maliciously touching the hand of April Joy.

 Zozobrado said that when Albert saw the foreigner who allegedly attempted to kiss the hand of April Joy, he tried to stop Moneely but was instead slapped by the latter three times.  The couple who sought the assistance of the police had Moneely placed under arrest.

 Zozobrado said that Moneely was brought to the Cebu City Medical Center for a liquor test and was found positive by the attending physician.

 Moneely was temporarily detained at the Mabolo Police Station, but was eventually released after April Joy and Albert decided not to pursue filing charges against him.  (FREEMAN)
