Two siblings now in jail for allegedly killing man

CEBU, Philippines - Two siblings blamed for the killing of a 39-year-old man last Tuesday, were arrested in their respective residences during a follow-up operation by the Cebu City police  last Thursday at around 11 a.m.

The police identified the suspects as Rocky Villarta, 26, of  Sitio Alaska, Barangay Mambaling; and Arvin Villarta, 30, of Sitio Cekalco, Barangay Labangon, Cebu City.

Police said the victim, identified as James Williard Tacoque, was shot dead by the said suspects last Tuesday at Lopez Street, Sitio Mahayahay, Barangay Calamba.

Tacoque was reportedly watching a pin ball game in a shanty located in the said place when the suspects suddenly appeared and shot him in the head and back. They escaped on a black Honda motorcycle.

During their arrest, the police were able to recover illegal drugs from both suspects.

Recovered from Rocky were four plastic sachets of shabu and two strips of aluminum foil, while a medium pack of shabu was recovered from Alvin.

Both suspects were brought to the CCPO detention cell and will be facing a charge against for murder and violation of the Dangerous Drugs  Act.  — Joeylen A. de la Cruz, NORSU MassComm Intern/BRP (FREEMAN)
