Patrons try to rescue drug pusher

CEBU, Philippines - Several people reportedly tried to rescue a level-two drug pusher who was arrested in a buy-bust operation along Urot Street, Mabolo, Cebu City Thursday afternoon.

Manny Flores, 33, a barangay garbage collector, was apprehended by operatives of the City Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operations Task Group in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

Flores was arrested around 5:10 p.m. after receiving the P200 marked money from a police poseur-buyer in exchange of a small pack of shabu.

Also confiscated from Flores were a big pack and 16 small packs of suspected shabu and P550 cash believed to be proceeds from his illegal activities.

The drugs were estimated to have a street value of P50,000.
