Alleged level 2 pusher arrested

CEBU, Philippines - Police scored more points in their anti-drug campaign as they arrested an alleged level two drug pusher who yielded five huge packs of shabu in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Mabolo last Friday night.

The City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Group (CAIDSOTG) and the City Intelligence Branch (CIB) arrested Mark Clint Mabaga of Barangay Lorega in his rented place in President Roxas Street, Barangay Mabolo, where he allegedly conducts his illegal drug activities.

Mabaga reportedly is able to dispose at least 200 grams of shabu every week.

CIB chief Romeo Santander said they arrested Mabaga as soon as he handed over a huge pack of shabu worth P25,000 to a police officer who acted as the poseur-buyer.

Santander said they used cut papers topped with P2,000 bills to lure Mabaga during the transaction.    The suspect was placed under a week-long surveillance before he was subjected to a raid, said Santander.

After his arrest, the suspect was frisked and eventually was seized with four other large packs of the same white powdery substance.

The drugs taken from Mabaga’s possession reportedly had a street value of around P200,000, said Santander.

He said Mabaga’s distribution of illegal drugs was based in Barangay Lorega but decided to change area and transferred to Mabolo.

Mabaga is said to be the son of a certain Nog-nog, who is now detained in Muntinlupa City Jail for the same offense, according to the CIB chief.

Santander revealed that based on their intelligence monitoring, Mabaga’s drugs allegedly comes from his father.

During the tactical interrogation, Mabaga said the drugs are only deposited in his custody.

Mabaga will be facing a complaint for violation of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.  (FREEMAN)
