A Celebration of Indian Cuisine

A new and exciting Culinary Journey called "Khana: A Celebration of Indian Cuisine" was launched at Marco Polo Plaza on November 7.

The launching was graced by the presence of the Embassy of India's First Secretary of Commercial and Education, Mr. Narayanan Ramakrishnan. Friends from the media and some clients from the Indian community were present to celebrate the occasion.

The event opened with welcome remarks by Marco Polo Plaza General Manager Julie Najar, followed by Mr. Narayanan Ramakrishnan's talk on Indian Cuisine and Ms. Judeline Murjani's speech on the food that was to be served. Ms. Murjani is Marco Polo Plaza's culinary consultant for Indian Cuisine and mother of Ms. Cebu 2013 Neesha Murjani.

Khana was officially launched by the lighting of the brass lamp by Mr. Narayanan Ramakrishnan, Ms. Julie Najar, Ms. Judeline Murjani and Ms. Neesha Murjani. Members of the San Diego dance company entertained the guests with their flowing and vibrant costumes as they danced to the Indian beat. The launching was sealed with a sumptuous dinner buffet at Café Marco where the guests enjoyed Indian dishes such as fish sarsowali, chicken biryani, dhal makhani, fish tikka salad and so much more! All the guests went home with a golden box full of Ms. Judeline Murjani's special recipe of Indian sweets.

"Khana: A Celebration of Indian Cuisine" ran until November 15.
