Energy-Saving Fixtures and Gadgets

CEBU, Philippines – On March 28, again the world celebrates Earth Hour, by switching off lights for an hour. The celebration aims to raise more awareness about climate change. Since the movement's inception in 2007, there are now more than 162 countries participating.

Locally, one of the establishments responding to the call for ways to mitigate the adverse effects of climate change is CD-R King. The one-stop media shop has a wide variety of items that can help save up on electricity and help save the environment. It has items like solar panels that homeowners can install to their houses. This can also result in big savings on electricity.

There are also energy-efficient LED lights that are more energy saving compared with ordinary bulbs. LED lights use only 2 to17 watts of electricity, equivalent to only one-third the energy consumption of incandescent bulb or CFL. LED bulbs are longer lasting, too, up to 10 times longer than compact fluorescents, and far longer than typical incandescents. Thus, homeowners do not only save money on electricity but also on replacement costs.

Other CD-R King energy-efficient gadgets include rechargeable electric fans, rechargeable and crank dynamo flashlights that are very useful during blackouts.  To lessen carbon imprint, California Ecobike's electronic bike is a perfect companion; these are rechargeable and run like regular motorcycles.
