Miscellaneous Happenings in Town

We had a marvelous lunch one noontime to meet the new general manager of Radisson Blu Hotel. Held at the Feria, the top guns of Radisson Blu present were: the new GM Nishan Silva, Executive Chef from Quebec, Frederic Cyr, Princess Anderlie, Director for Marketing and Communications (MARCOM), Ann Olalo, the durable Director of Sales and Marketing, and May Jimena, Marcom Assistant.

The new GM has shown his versatility on everything. In fact, a new idea has cropped up and this was introduced by the hotel… that is, to cook the food in your kitchen if you intend to have a party in your home. All you have to do is buy all the ingredients and presto… the Radisson Blu's Chef will cook for you in your kitchen, and in your presence. Of course, for a fee! Just give RB a ring and they will assign a chef for you.

Anita San Jose, a member of the very active civic group "Elegant Circle," was given a despedida lunch in an uptown Japanese resto before she left for San Francisco to visit her daughter and grandchildren. Anita is also an active member of Beautiful Cebu Movement, Inc. and a volunteer for Operation Smile.

And speaking of despedida, Herminia Yu (Myn to her friends) was in Cebu recently. A very successful businesswoman in Los Angeles, CA, Myn comes to visit friends and relations every year in Cebu and Bohol. Before she left for LA, her former classmates treated her to lunch at Ulli's so she could savor the latest cuisine from Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam, which is the main menu in Ulli's. Nelia Neri and Chinggay Utzurrum were the hosts.
