Ice Seguerra not returning for ‘Drag Race PH’ Season 2

CEBU, Philippines —   Ice Seguerra will not be part of the production team for the second season of “Drag Race Philippines”.

“Since my [live] shows started, sobrang medyo [sa] schedule ‘di na kaya,” he said during a press conference at Kape Tano at City Times Square, Mandaue City for the Cebu leg of his 35th anniversary concert “Becoming Ice”, happening February 18 at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino.

In Season 1, Seguerra made his directorial debut with “Drag Race Philippines Untucked”, which is a companion series to the main reality competition show as the drag contestants “spill the tea” backstage in the work room, while guests including host Paolo Ballesteros deliberate on the contestants’ performances.

“What’s nice about it is that I became really good friends and developed close friendships with some of the queens like [the season winner] Precious Paula Nicole,” Seguerra said.

Seguerra and his wife Liza Diño are behind the production company “Fire and Ice Media and Productions” which is mounting the “Becoming Ice” concerts with Nathan Studios headed by Sylvia Sanchez, Arjo and Ria Atayde.

Fire and Ice is also producing the “Divine Divas: The Ultimate Drag Experience” concert featuring Precious and her fellow “Drag PH” contestants Viñas DeLuxe and Brigiding on Februrary 10 at New Frontier Theater in Quezon City.

Seguerra said that he is aware of the demand from Drag Race fans in Cebu to bring the Divine Divas to the province. “Every time we see someone in Cebu and they find out we are producing the Divine Divas concert, they ask ‘Can you bring them here?’”, he said. “Let’s see. They might [come here]!”
