Yassi gave up ‘Probinsyano’ to be game show host

TV host-actress Yassi Pressman is the latest female celebrity to reinvent herself as a game show host via “Rolling In It Philippines,” the newest game show produced by Viva TV, Cignal Entertainment and TV5 that will roll off on Saturday, June 5.

At the Zoom presscon held Tuesday, Yassi said she felt happy when she was offered to host the show.  “I am very excited when I was informed by ‘Rolling In It Philippines’ that they have chosen me to host this show which is the number one game show in the UK in 2020,” said Yassi.

“This is something new for me. I have never done this before. There is pressure to do good. Doing this show is challenging because the show is exciting since you don’t know where the coin will land once you’ve rolled it.”

Wanting to be effective as a game show host, Yassi asked for tips from Robi Domingo who has done several ABS-CBN game shows.

“I always read the script thoroughly and I studied the mechanics of the game so I won’t lose focus once I set foot on set,” she added.

She admits being a risk-taker and would definitely go to great lengths to achieve what she wants.

“If you want something, you have to go for it. If you have a dream, strive hard to achieve that dream. If you don’t go for it, you will not be able to achieve anything.”

Because of her busy schedule, Yassi said she had to give up her role as Alyana in the top-rating action-drama series “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.” But she is very thankful for the opportunity given to her by Dreamscape Entertainment to be part of the show.

“I was very appreciative of the offer to do the role of Alyana and I am thankful that Coco (Martin) fulfilled his promise that my character will have a good exit.”

If there is a chance, Yassi would want Coco and her other “Probinsyano” co-stars to play in “Rolling In It Philippines” for the chance to win the P2 million grand prize.

For a first time director of a sex comedy flick, director GB Sampedro did a fairly good job in “Kaka,” topbilled by Sunshine Guimary and Jerald Napoles.

We had the chance to watch Kaka at the press preview via KTX.ph Tuesday night and we find it quite entertaining.

For a newcomer, Sunshine also did a fairly good job. While her role as a sexy DJ is not too demanding, she acquitted herself well.

We also liked Jerald’s performance as Sunshine’s best friend who is secretly in love with her. Also giving good support were Ms. Gina Pareno and Ms. Rosanna Roces who played Sunshine’s grandmother and loving mom, respectively.

Kaka will be streamed on KTX.ph and Vivamax starting tomorrow.

Alden Richards has started taping for his new series under GMA titled “The World Between Us” where he co-stars with Tom Rodriguez.

The actor hasn’t done a TV series for quite some time although his fans can watch him hosting “Centerstage” and “Eat Bulaga” (if his schedule permits). But doing a TV series helps Alden hone his acting skills. On the movie front, his fans are waiting for his project with Bea Alonzo.

Alden is also a favorite product endorser, one of which is Lazada. This only goes to show that he is an effective endorser and the public supports the products attached to his name.

He has not been seen in “Eat Bulaga” for quite some time and some of his fans are asking if he is no longer part of the country’s number one noontime show. Maybe Alden is just busy with other projects but if he has time for sure he will back.
