‘Born to be Wild’ presents Reptile Kingdom

CEBU, Philippines — Staring tomorrow, join Doc Ferds Recio and Doc Nielsen as “Born to be Wild” features the month-long special “Reptile Kingdom.”

Reptiles are resilient creatures that have stood the test of time and the constantly changing environment. Today, they face habitat loss, climate change, and are victims of illegal wildlife trade. Reptiles, among the oldest animals in the world, are now under the threat of extinction.

Join Doc Ferds as he travels to Misamis Oriental to visit a local family that looks after at least a hundred Philippine salfin lizards that strayed into their backyard. Doc Ferds and his team are to witness a rare sight: a Philippine salfin lizard’s nest. This river area that has served as home to the salfins will soon be turned into a critical habitat.

In some forests in the Visayas, locals say there are dragons to be found. Doc Nielsen visits Negros Occidental to look for the elusive creature and comes face to face with the Negros forest dragon.

Find out this Sunday in Born to be Wild’s “Reptile Kingdom” after “AHA!” on GMA-7.
