Three H sectors to lead new normal economy

CEBU, Philippines —  The post-pandemic environment gives promising business opportunities to would-be entrepreneurs, specifically in home, health and hang-out (hhh) sectors.

These three H are expected to gain considerable returns in the post COVID-19 era, predicted economist and urban planner Ronilo Balbieran.

Home related products are seen to take higher strides on sales going forward considering that people are improving, renovating their homes under while work-from-home arrangement may become part of the new normal.

Others are also on a buying spree for new homes, the reason why residential developers are enjoying brisk sales in the middle of pandemic.

Businesses that offer any health related products and services will also serve a huge funnel to catch in cash flows, as people are much more conscious of their health today more than even, Balbieran said.

From medical products, to healthy food options, supplements, organic products, vegetarian and vegan food, including plants, any venture which relates to health would see sunrise in the new normal and this is expected to stay in the long term.

Hang-out places, businesses, including physical shopping will also perform very well in new normal, as socialization activities despite the restrictions are part of the essential needs for humans.

Despite the rising popularity of online shopping, Balbieran believes that physical shopping is here to stay. In fact, if tourism is fully recovered, this will revive the sales performance of physical shopping businesses.

According to Balbieran, the dynamics of the ecosystem going forward is a combination of eCommerce and human touch.

What is certain, he reiterated is the lead of the HHH sectors in the new normal, he added.
