Group to open second resort in Mactan integrated project
CEBU, Philippines – The Abaca Group of Companies is set to open a 180-room luxury resort in Mactan in the last quarter of 2016, which will be located at the integrated property development called "The Reef."
This will be the second resort facility to be managed by the Abaca Group, adding to the existing 30-room luxury resort currently operated by the Group at the Punta Engaño, Mactan Island.
Abaca Group founder Jason Hyatt believes that Cebu should provide top-tier facilities to meet the demand from the growing number of affluent visitors, whether here for leisure or business travels.
Hyatt will manage the resort operation of the "The Reef" which is a resort and residential project, located in the beachfront property also on Mactan Island.
"The Reef" is part of the integrated development ventured by Nextland Estate Venture Inc.--LandCaster Group, which will also offer residential condominium units.
Hyatt has tapped the expertise of world renowned designer Kenneth Cobonpue to provide a resort-feel, timeless tropical ambiance and aesthetics of the resort, which is expected to draw interest from wealthy travelers all over the world.
Hyatt believes that Cebu's potential to draw in affluent market --both local and foreign is tremendous.
In fact, the occupancy rate of the exclusive 30-room, six-star service accommodation resort--the Abaca Boutique Resort, is consistently on high level, a manifestation that Cebu is becoming one of the favorite tropical destinations, among high-heeled globetrotters.
The Abaca Group entered into the luxury accommodation and restaurant sector in Cebu 2006, through the nine-room Abaca Boutique Resort in Punta Engaño, Mactan Island.
Today, the Group owns several restaurant brands, such as Maya Mexican Restaurant, Tavolata Italian Restaurant, two Phat Pho Vietnamese Kitchen outlets, Beqaa Middle Eastern Restaurant, and the newly opened Abaca Baking Company Cafe & Coffee House, and the latest brand called, the Luncheonette, located on the ground floor of Robinson's Cybergate.
According to Hyatt the lucrative restaurant and accommodation businesses in Cebu is something that cannot be overlooked.
Earlier, tourism leader and prime mover Robert Lim Joseph said that Cebu still lacks enough supply of luxurious accommodation, although the province is beginning to attract affluent travelers from all over the world.
