Soon after that I learned that the learned agricultural scientist had come out with another worthy project – a book of 35 poems with 30 paintings by the author himself. This collection of poems, entitled "The Silent Voice of Your Soul," is a reflection on the human condition – or, as the author puts it, "from birth to death and beyond."

                    [Summary] => Sen. Manuel Villar Jr. was honored yesterday by the University of the Philippines Alumni Association (UPAA) as this year’s Most Distinguished Alumnus, the highest recognition given yearly by the association.


The award, given for his exemplary public service, was given to Villar during ceremonies held at the Bahay ng Alumni in UP Diliman, Quezon City.


Honored as Most Distinguished UP Alumna in the same ceremonies was Dolores Hernandez.
