It is important that our pet lovers know that spaying or neutering their dogs and cats is the humane choice to make,” said Anna Cabrera, program director, Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS).

It’s been almost 20 years since I started living with my own choice of dogs. Way back in the past, there was always a dog in the house.

Next to my three doggie companions and my mom, I spend lots of time with my nieces and nephews. I guess it is the plight of a Tita like me — the one who has time for doggies, kids and gadgets.

[Summary] => I recently lost Greta, our nine-year-old Mini Schnauzer.

It happened all of a sudden. I was so happy when I found out that she was one month pregnant, but the following day she died.

I took Greta to the vet on a Wednesday just to confirm what we at home already knew. Greta had all the signs of a pregnant doggie. She was sleeping most of the time. She seemed to feel real hot and she was not eating as much as she used to.

Because like shopa-holics, they are not the smartest of shoppers; they are, however, one of the most indulgent groups of people. I mean, what dog really needs a Burberry raincoat? I have known Dingdong from way back and he is one guy who has a passion for his Schnauzers.

Dingdong asked me to help him get the news out that the Schnauzer Club has held its first meeting and they plan to have more meetings and activities soon.

Anyway, since I have three Schnauzers at home, I know how Dingdong feels about making sure that the breed gets more exposure.

Here’s his report. "He’s a Toy Poodle and he’s sooooo cute," I said to him.

"He looks like a rat," replied Hans.

Growing up in a home where big dogs were the thing was the cause for my brother’s lack of interest in Gorby.

But let me tell you that Hans’ indif-ference to Gorby lasted only a month. The next time he came to visit us his opinion had changed.
