As of this writing, my friend Jay Canilao is in coma. He moved into coma after a cardiac arrest. It has been some time that he has told us that he needs a heart transplant, and in this past week, friends have come forward passing the hat to help pay for medical bills. When I think of Jay with his heart condition, I have often said that he loves too much. He was one of the most generous and positive people around, always listening to people to the point where people would suck his energy and yet he continually gave love, attention and advise.

Some people really have such hard times making decisions (yes, especially Librans, Gemini and even Pisces people). They over-exert their minds, over-analyze and move into compulsive over-thinking that ends up making them more confused, and burdened by headaches to boot.

She had no work and was looking for editing jobs so she could keep on writing her novel. Creativity is being killed by the requirements of survival – economic survival – to keep body alive. I agreed 100 percent with all her sentiments.

Marie Avenir, 41, was a journalist for seven years, writing for The Manila Chronicle, The Manila Times, We Forum and Malaya after  graduating from UP in 1986. She then studied a new field called anthroposophy, which led her to Waldorf education. She earned her master’s degree in Waldorf Education from the University of the State of New York and now specializes in Waldorf education in the home setting.

Many, too, are in awe of the blessings of their lives – of financial help that came from nowhere, of a stranger who proves to be a great friend, a community support they never expected, of  great spiritual awakenings and insights, happenings in their hearts and minds.
