Team Liquid, Mobile Legends nominated at The Game Awards
MANILA, Philippines — Team Liquid Philippines and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) are making waves on the global stage after securing nominations in the prestigious The Game Awards 2025, which will take place on December 11 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
MLBB, developed by Moonton Games, continues its dominance in mobile esports, earning a nomination for Best Esports Game. The recognition underscores MLBB’s enduring popularity and competitive depth, especially after its inclusion in the upcoming 2026 Asian Games and its fourth consecutive appearance as a medal event in the Southeast Asian Games this December.
The country's top MLBB squad, Team Liquid, is nominated for Best Esports Team, a testament to a year defined by a tournament win streak. The squad completed its Mobile Legends “grand slam” this year, becoming the first organization to win every major MLBB tournament: the Mobile Legends Professional League-Philippines, the M-Series World Championship, and just last July, the Mid-Season Cup (MSC).
With their qualification in the upcoming M7 World Championship in Jakarta, Indonesia next year, Team Liquid hopes to complete "The Golden Road”, the term in esports when a single team has won all the major tournaments for an esports title in a single year.
The Game Awards, often referred to as the "Oscars of gaming", was established back in 2014 and honors achievements in the video game industry. Winners are determined by jury deliberation with a portion of finals scores also coming from fan votes cast via their website.
Winners for this year's Game Awards will be announced live on December 11 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
