Baldur’s Gate 3 named Game of the Year at Steam Awards

MANILA, Philippines – Baldur’s Gate 3 is the big winner of the 2023 Steam Awards as it brought home the coveted Game of the Year Award.

The party-based role playing game set in the universe of Dungeons and Dragons won the Game of the Year Award over Resident Evil 4, FC24, Hogwarts Legacy and Lethal Company.

Baldur’s Gate 3 earlier won various Game of the Year plums, including the Golden Joystick Awards, Game Awards 2023 and Brazil Game Awards.

The game also bagged the Outstanding Story-Rich Game Award, which it won over Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Resident Evil 4, Lies of P and Love is All Around.

Meanwhile, Labyrinthine was named the VR Game of the Year, edging Ghosts of Tabor, F1 23 and I Expect You To Die 3.

Rockstar Games’ classic Red Dead Redemption II was given the Labor of Love Award, which is a feat given to games that are “still getting new content after all these years.”

It won the award over DOTA 2, Apex Legends, Deep Rock Galactic and Rust.

The Best Game on Steam Deck Award was Hogwarts Legacy, which won over The Outlast Trials, Diablo IV, Brotato and Dredge.

The Outstanding Visual Style Award was won by Atomic Heart, which won over Darkest Dungeon II, High on Life, Cocoon and Inward.

The Best Soundtrack Award was taken home by The Last of Us. It defeated Persona 5 Tactica, Chants of Sennaar, Hi-Fi Rush and Pizza Tower.

The results of the voting for the Steam Awards were announced a few days ago.
