SMART CLARK GIGA CITY , Philippines — Cinderella squads Phoenix and Meralco exited the bubble yesterday with heads held high following magnificent two-month runs that came to an end at the hands of Philippiner Cup finalists TNT and Ginebra.

“We’re going to get out from the bubble as a proud team,” said Fuel Masters mentor Topex Robinson.

“It was a good run especially for us who have never been to the All-Filipino Cup playoffs. It was a pretty good run to make it this far,” added Bolts coach Norman Black.

Scottie Thompson of Ginebra has his late grandmother up above to thank for following his magical game-winning three-pointer against Meralco in the deciding Game 5 of the semis last Sunday.

“After ng tira ko iniisip ko para sa lola ko talaga yun. Ginabayan niya ako sa tira na yon. Sobrang emotional ako kasi yun nga, talagang pinag-pray ko na makapag finals kami para sa kanya,” said the do-it-all guard, whose grandmother passed away last month in the middle of the PBA Philippine Cup elims.

Scottie has become the miracle man for Ginebra inside the bubble.
