BanKo blanks Air Force for second win

MANILA, Philippines — The BanKo Perlas Spikers earned their second win of the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference after besting the Air Force Lady Jet Spikers in three sets, 25-13, 25-18, 25-19, at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan City on Saturday.

BanKo's one-two punch of Dzi Gervacio and Nicole Tiamzon proved too much for Air Force.

Middle blockers Kathy Bersola and Sue Roces also chipped in at the net for their squad.

The Jet Spikers looked poise to force a fourth set when they led 16-13 in the third canto.

But the Perlas Spikers were able to stage a run and fend off their opponents for the sweep.

Dell Palomata and Joy Cases were bright spots for Air Force in the losing effort.

BanKo improved its win-loss slate to 2-1 record while the Lady Jet Spikers continue to search for their first win in the conference.
