Lakers GM meets with Ty Lue for coaching vacancy
MANILA, Philippines — It may be deja vu for LeBron James next season as Lakers GM Rob Pelinka met with former Cavaliers Coach Ty Lue, considering Lue as recently sacked LA coach Luke Walton's replacement.
Lue coached James and the Cavaliers to three-straight NBA Finals apperances from 2016 to 2018 but was relieved from his post a few games into the 2018-2019 NBA season.
As per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Pelinka and Lue's meeting was a more of "getting to know" meet while setting up a second interview for the specifics.
ESPN reporting with @McTen: Ty Lue’s meeting w/ Lakers GM Rob Pelinka today was similar to Monty Williams’ earlier in week: Get to know each other, setting up second interviews focused more on specifics. Lakers plan to bring back both coaches for sit-downs including Jeanie Buss.

Apart from Lue, Pelinka also met with Philly assistant coach Monty Williams earlier this week.
Both Lue and Williams have been reported to be called back for second meetings.
The Lakers finished with a mediocre 37-45 record this 2019 that snapped James' 14-year-long playoff appearance streak.
