Uncharacteristic loss against DLSU 'just another game' for Ateneo

MANILA, Philippines — The Ateneo Lady Eagles are the number one blocking team in the league. 

But the Katipunan-based squad was simply helpless against the Lady Spikers. 

The Lady Eagles didn't register a single block point against the defending champions.

DLSU simply ran circles around the Ateneo defense in their three-set victory over the top team.

"It's very uncharacteristic of us na wala ngang blocks... They found ways through it eh," Ateneo skipper Bea de Leon said.

After seeming invincible during their 10-game winning streak, Ateneo suddenly looked vulnerable.

But de Leon shrugs off the sweep defeat.

"This is just another game. Good news is we did enough to still be number one. We'll make it to where we want. It's just tough," de Leon said.

The Lady Eagles look to bounce back after the Holy week break when they face the Adamson Lady Falcons on April 24.
