Little League Philippine Series finals on

MANILA, Philippines — Two-division holders Tanauan and Negros Occidental banner 36 squads vying for top honors in the Little League Philippine Series Finals beginning today in Cabuyao, Laguna.

Tanauan stakes its crowns in the centerpiece LL baseball division as well as in Junior League Baseball while Negros Occidental defends its softball titles in majors and seniors in the national championships where berths in the Asia-Pacific Series are up for grabs.

Out to the steal the thunder from the Tanauan clouters in the majors are Luzon runner-up Muntinlupa and regional qualifiers North Cebu and Dumaguete from the Visayas and Maitum, Sarangani and Zamboanga from Mindanao. Tanauan’s juniors bets face stiff competition from Muntinlupa, their conqueror in the Luzon Regionals, Iloilo and North Cebu from the Visayas, and South Cotabato and Kiamba from Mindanao.

Tanauan also leads the aspirants for the Seniors’ baseball crown previously held by ILLAM. The Tanaueños dispute the vacant throne with Muntinlupa, Northern Samar, Iloilo, South Cotabato and Kidapawan.
