DUMAGUETE, Philippines — The Philippine Sports Institute will hold a series of sports science talks coinciding with the Batang Pinoy Games Visayas regionals, which goes full blast today at the Lamberto Macias Sports Center and nearby venues here.

To be held on the Foundation University campus beginning tomorrow, the series will cover five subjects,  according to PSI deputy director for grassroots Salvador Marlon Malbog IV, a former basketball coach at the Ateneo de Davao.

“We will have courses in first aid, sports nutrition, performance analysis among children, maximizing performance using movement efficiency screening and sports nutrition,” Malbog said of the four-day course open for free to coaches and participants of the weeklong Batang Pinoy Visayas regionals.

He added that speakers are experts in areas that play an important role in enhancing the performance of athletes, whether beginners or at the elite level.
