AMA Jr Titans reach finals of Breakdown Basketball Invitational

MANILA, Philippines — The AMA junior basketball team, led by Carlo Garcia’s 32 markers, beat La Salle Greenhills, 76-59, to advance to the finals of the 19-U division in the Breakdown Basketball Invitational last weekend at the Moro Lorenzo Gym.

The Junior Titans, under AMA athletic director and head coach Mark Herrera, finished the elimination round with a 6-2 win-loss record, its two losses coming from La Salle Greenhills and Mapua.

The AMA Junior Titans clash with the ECA Team which beat University of the Philippines Junior Maroons.

“Our AMA junior team is young and undersized but I always tell them to play with heart, and that’s what makes them a winner,” said Herrera.

Herrera is assisted by Benjie Diswe and Edwin Ancheta. The team is supported by AMA president Dr Amable C Aguiluz IX and Senior VP Arnel Hibo.

Tournament director is Gil Salandanan.
