MANILA, Philippines — Alyssa Valdez will be at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan when her team faces the BaliPure Water Defenders in the Premier Volleyball League semifinals.

But she won't see action on the court.

The Rebisco management on Saturday decided to sideline Valdez for the rest of the season of the Creamline Cool Smashers.

In a statement, the management said Valdez's health is their top priority as she will also don the National team jersey in the upcoming Asian Women's Volleyball Championship and the Southeast Asian Games.

"She will be present during the games though to cheer on and provide moral support to her teammates and fans," the statement read.

Valdez missed the Cool Smashers' last three elimination round games, but it was hardly felt as Creamline ended the elims without a loss.

Veterans Pau Soriano and Rose Vargas stepped up in her absence with Jia Morado orchestrating the offense.
