MANILA, Philippines – Local motorsports gets a major boost as the Philippines hosts the second stop of the inaugural season of the FIA-certified Formula 4 South East Asia (F4 SEA) Championship this weekend at the Clark International Speedway in Pampanga.
The event is the first FIA-certified race held in the country with the region’s top drivers seeing action. The F4SEA Championship is one of the 12 championships in the FIA’s Formula 4 global format organized by Triple A headed by chairman Peter Thompson with aim of developing Asia’s motorsport talents through a cost-effective program.
Twenty-one young champion drivers in the region will slug it out in the six-race weekend event powered by Petron Corp., the official fuel.
Five Filipinos – former Karter of the Year Gabe Tayao, Angie King, brothers Sam and Ben Grimes and Cebuano Paolo Rodriguez – banner the country’s bid against the top racers from New Zealand, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Australia, Malaysia, Oman, France and Great Britain.
