V-L, foreign stint eyed for Alyssa

MANILA, Philippines – After a failed three-peat to cap an otherwise checkered collegiate career, Alyssa Valdez embarks on a tougher, rougher challenge – the Shakey’s V-League and possible stints abroad.

Though she hasn’t signed up yet with any team in the upcoming Shakey’s wars, the former Ateneo ace hitter is sure of playing in the league where she honed her talent and skills to become the sport’s top player and draw.

“She will play in the V-League and then we’ll see where she would be okay to play abroad,” said Tony Liao, Valdez’s team manager at Ateneo.

Shakey’s V-League president Ricky Palou also confirmed Valdez’s participation in the Shakey’s V-League unwrapping its new season on May 15 with the former hinting at his former ward’s stint in either Philips Gold, Pocari Sweat or Smart/PLDT.

“We’ll see where she lands,” said Liao of Valdez.

Valdez led PLDT Home Ultera to twin titles last year while bagging a couple of MVP plums.
