Cagayan nails Number 4 vs Supremo Lex
MANILA, Philippines - Cagayan Valley rode on the momentum of its victory over erstwhile unbeaten Caida Tiles as it blasted Supremo Lex, 74-60, to firm up its twice-to-beat edge in the quarterfinal round of the PCBL Founders Cup at the JCSGO gym in QC Tuesday.
Mark Brana, who keyed the Rising Suns’ win over the Tile Masters, fired a game-high 23 points to power Cagayan to its fourth win in seven games in the tournament supported by Spalding, Ambucore, Accel and Aquabest.
Point guard Carlo Isit dished out a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds while Stephen Siruma chipped in 10 markers for the Rising Suns.
Cagayan Valley also dominated the boards, 51-41, and netted 50 points inside the paint against their rivals’ 36.
In the other game, Kama Motors eked out an 82-78 upset win over sister team Caida Tiles to improve to 3-7.
