2 teams pace Eagle Ridge 4x4

MANILA, Philippines - Ramil Villanueva and partner Norberto Liwanag and the Roy Sausa-Gerardo de Chavez pair each combined for 124 points to set the pace in Class A halfway through the 4x4 Invitational of the Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club in Gen. Trias, Cavite last weekend.

Both teams played the Norman course (aggregate) and Aoki (best ball) under the Stableford format with the leaders hoping to sustain their charge when they play the Dye course (scramble) tomorrow and the Faldo layout (aggregate) in Saturday’s final round of the event presented by Concepts Golf Management.

Kim Jung-oh and Teddy Valenton showed the way in Class B with a 90 with Bong Maghirang and Joven Calabia just behind with an 89 followed by Cyril Salamanque and Gary Sales, who pooled an 88, and club director Fred Pareja and John Bulalacao, who assembled an 85.

In other divisions, Levi San Buenaventura and Raymond Vasquez scored a 127 to take charge in Class C while Salvador Almagro and Bert Quinones wrested control in Class D with a 149.

Niña Kersey and Gina Hepoit combined for a 138 to lead the ladies section while Rex Goquingco and Mori Mendoza made a 140 to seize control in the sponsors division of Eagle Ridge’s centerpiece tournament.
