MANILA, Philippines – If the highly anticipated super fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. finally gets made, the announcement will come from Mayweather himself and no one else.

According to a report by Yahoo! Sports’ Kevin Iole, Pacquiao’s adviser Michael Koncz said the Filipino icon has agreed to every condition set by Mayweather in order to make the megabuck showdown happen.

And that includes keeping mum and allowing Mayweather himself to make the announcement.

"We're treating him [Mayweather] as the A side in this because we just want to get it done and we want to give the fans what they've been asking for, for years," Koncz told Iole.

Turning a Mayweather-Pacquiao duel into reality has never been this close, especially after the two fighters personally met at halftime of the NBA game between the Miami Heat and the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday. After exchanging numbers with Pacquiao, Mayweather followed up on that encounter by visiting the fighting congressman in his hotel in Miami.

That meeting, according to Koncz, turned out to be a productive one and showed Mayweather’s sincerity in making the fight, which, if finalized, will be staged on May 2 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Pacquiao has likewise agreed to a 60-40 purse split in favor of Mayweather, and Koncz said that at this point, no one can prevent the bout from pushing through except the two superstars.

"Nobody can stop this. I can't stop it. Bob can't stop it. HBO can't stop it. Showtime can't. [Mayweather adviser] Al [Haymon] can't. The only ones who can stop it are Floyd and Manny, and right now, they're both saying they want the fight," said Koncz. – Dino Maragay
